Trailer Hitches

Class 1:
Add cargo space to your car with a class 1 hitch. They're perfect for attaching a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier for that next big weekend getaway. A class 1 trailer hitch may also be used to tow certain lightweight trailers, depending on the vehicle.
Class 2:
A class 2 hitch allows you to add cargo space to your vehicle, using a hitch cargo carrier or hitch bike rack. For many cars, minivans and crossovers, a class 2 trailer hitch is also excellent for towing small, lightweight trailers, depending on the vehicle.
Class 3:
Class 3 hitches are some of the most common types of receiver hitches on the road. This is because of their versatile towing capacity and standard 2" receiver size. A class 3 hitch enables you to tow a wide variety of trailers, allowing you to pursue your passion -- camping, hunting, fishing, motorsports and more.
Class 4:
Built for serious towing, a class 4 trailer hitch can handle almost any non-commercial job, including large boat trailers, utility trailers and full-size campers. A class 4 hitch can also be used with a weight distribution system for added stability and strength.
Class 5:
CURT Xtra Duty hitches begin a class of their own, beyond class 4 and beyond anything the standards dictate. Xtra Duty trailer hitches have a gross trailer weight capacity up to 17,000 lbs. and a tongue weight up to 2,550 lbs. These hitches are not for the faint of heart. A class 5 trailer hitch is designed for the hard road where only 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickup trucks and SUVs dare to tread. They are capable of pulling almost any heavy-duty trailer, including livestock trailers, RVs, large boat trailers, double-axle utility trailers and toy haulers. The Xtra Duty hitches feature a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening and can be used with a weight distribution system for more stability, though the GTW capacity remains at 17,000 lbs.
Kraken Auto is also able to install hitches on vehicles that some other shops are not willing to work on. Vehicles such as Porsche, Volvo and Audi where we have to cut/trim bumper fascia to make it fit around the hitch.
Front Mount Hitches
A front trailer hitch allows you to use the front end of your vehicle for a variety of towing applications. They can be used for mounting a winch, a snow plow, a number of towing accessories and can even be used for some trailering applications. When space is limited, a front trailer hitch is commonly used to hold a cargo carrier, freeing up space inside the vehicle for extra cargo and making the rear mount receiver available to pull a trailer. At the boat ramp, your boat trailer can be hitched up to the front receiver hitch, giving you better control over the trailer as you launch. Some of the other accessories that can be used with a front tow hitch are the CURT winch mount, step pad, license plate holder, spare tire mount, skid shield and tow hooks.
5th Wheel Hitches

Brake Controllers
Kraken Auto sells brake controllers that help you tow heavy trailers with ease. Brake controllers are essential for safe towing and allow the driver to apply the trailer brakes independently of the vehicle brakes.
CURT offers a full lineup of brake controllers for every need and preference, from time-delayed controllers to proportional controllers and even wireless Bluetooth® brake controllers. CURT Assure and Triflex brake controllers are proportional and work by applying the trailer brakes proportionally to the tow vehicle's braking force. Proportional brake controllers are ideal for towing extra large trailers as proportional brake controllers apply the trailer brakes proportionally as the driver applies the vehicle brakes.

Towing Electrical
There are multiple different electrical connections needed to tow a trailer safely. Vehicles need trailer wiring to be installed for lights, brakes & auxiliary charging. Some vehicles have premade wiring kits available that are plug and play units that are fairly easy to install. Vehicles that do not have plug and play units available need wiring installed carefully by a trained professional like those at Kraken Auto.
